Thanks for visiting Walk-Off Walk. This blog has its beginnings at Blogger and then transported to Wordpress before arriving at Substack. So, if the blog sounds familiar, there’s a reason for that.

What Can I Expect To See?

I feel there are a lot of great blogs out there that give you game recaps so I’ll instead focus more on a few different subjects related to the Atlanta Braves.

  • Current analysis. This might relate to an approach or philosophy the Braves appear to have or maybe should consider. Perhaps I believe a pitcher needs a different role on the team or maybe a player needs to be brought up from the minors? Or maybe I found a weird stat I want to talk about.

  • The Minors. I’m under no illusion that I am an expert, but I do try to keep my eye on the minors. In the past, I’ve done weekly Transaction Analysis pieces where I recap all the moves we’ve seen from the organization during. I’ve also done a Random Prospect series where a prospect is chosen pretty much out of a hat and we learn more about him. This series is fun because it’s rarely just the top prospects. Further, I’ve done a Top 30 or Top 50 prospects two-to-three times a year.

  • Braves History. One of the things my blog was most-known for was sprinkling in historical pieces throughout. Most of these came via the TOT series, which stands for Transaction of Today where I look at a move that occurred on that day in the past.

Will this be a pay-for-content blog?

Currently, I am posting 100% free articles as I get back into the habit of writing regularly. My plan, however, is to begin to write some articles behind a paywall. Not every article, but some - especially those that require a decent amount of research. I enjoy writing, but producing content takes time and it would be nice to be able to at least cover my costs related to baseball subscription services that help me produce said content. That said, I only plan to ask for the minimum ($5) every month.

Where do I contact you?

The best place to get in touch with me is on Twitter (I’m not calling it X). You can find me @walkoffwalk1. You can also leave a comment here or at another article.

Thank you for reading my material. Whether you opt for a free or paid subscription, I appreciate anyone giving me their time.
